Uniboard, a North American manufacturer of engineered wood products, is officially introducing its NU Green MR50 medium density fiberboard (MDF) at the 2012 International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, Ga.
The product is NAF (No Added Formaldehyde), and The Sacramento Bee said that it is a clear alternative to Medex.
NU Green MR50 is a high-quality moisture resistant MDF that takes into consideration periodic humidity. It works well for kitchens and bathrooms and commercial use in food service industries, institutional buildings and healthcare establishments.
It is environmentally-friendly and is available raw or as a thermally fused melamine (TFM) product. No formaldehyde is added is the manufacturing process, resulting in a product that exceeds CARB Phase 2 standards. It contains 100 percent recycled and recovered wood pre-consumer fibers and can help you gain up to 6 LEED points. It is certified by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and ECC (Eco-Certified Composite by the Composite Panel Association).
