WoodLINKS is now able to accept donations from eBay Auctions through the eBay Giving section of any Ebay auction.
"This started when WoodLINKS tried to raffle off a "Dream Shop" for woodworkers on a nationwide raffle," says WoodLINKS's Rick Hill. "We soon found out that the varying state laws on raffles made it impossible to do a nationwide approach. Now we can broaden our auction items and times from a one-time raffle to a percentage of sale of any eBay auction."
A percentage of money designated from the auction goes to WoodLINKS, which allows them to continue with their programs.
Any company or person that wants to auction off products can designate a portion of their proceeds to be donated to WoodLINKS under the eBay Giving section of the auction, Hill says.
When placing an item for sale on eBay, the seller is asked if they would like to donate a portion of their sale to a charity. The seller picks WoodLINKS from the list of charities on the eBay Giving section and then chooses what percentage they want to donate, from 1 to 100 percent. When the auction ends the total amount of the proceeds (minus the donated percentage) is sent directly to the seller. See http://www.woodlinksusa.org/ for more information.
